Noted Journalist Shafik Rehman has been released on bail from Kashimpur jail in Gazipur in a case for his alleged attempts to abduct and murder prime minister’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.Confirming the matter, Proshanto Kumar Banik, senior jail superintendent of Kashimpur Central Jail-2, said Shafik Rehman freed on bail on Tuesday at 12.50pm.Shafik is expected to get admitted to Birdem hospital for treatment as he is suffering from various complication including high blood pressure and diabetes.The Supreme Court on August 31 granted bail him for three months or until the charge sheet of the case is submitted. His bail will expire if police submits the charge sheet before three months, the apex court said in its order.
