At least three fishermen were electrocuted and two injured while fishing at a local water body in Gomostapur upazila of Chapainawabganj on Monday night.The deceased are Asadul Haque, 22, son of Alkes Ali, Abdul Bashir, 18, son of Azizul Haque, and Manirul Islam, 16, son of Azizul Haque of Bivison village.Confirming the matter, Manirul Islam, Assistant Superintendent of Police, said hearing the news, a team of police visited the spot.He said, the boat, carrying the fishermen, came in contact with live electric wire in Moishala beel around 11:30pm.‘Asadul, Bashir and Amirul died on the spot and two others - Abdullah and Nabiur- got injured and fell in the water body,’ the ASP added.
