A 12-hour hartal, enforced by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami protesting the Supreme Court verdict that upheld death penalty to their party leader Mir Quasem Ali, is underway across the country. The hartal began from 6am which will continue till 6pm on Wednesday, according to Jamaat website.The Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the death penalty awarded to war criminal Mir Quasem Ali for his wartime crimes, dismissing his review plea against the gallows.
