A massive fire erupted on Thursday, October 15, at Adam Cap, a towel manufacturing unit inside the Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ), around 2:00 pm.
The Agrabad Fire Service immediately responded to the incident, dispatching 15 firefighting units from EPZ, Agrabad, and Bayezid stations after receiving the alert at 2:10 pm.
In addition, Bangladesh is also helping them by joining the fire service.
The blaze has since been brought under control, according to Assistant Director Md. Anwar Hossain of the Agrabad Fire Service.
Anwar Hossain added that the exact cause remains unknown and is under investigation.
No casualties have been reported so far. Authorities are assessing the extent of damage to the facility and surrounding units.
