A Metropolitan Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday granted five-day remand for each of the female suspected members of banned militant outfit Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh for interrogation.
Metropolitan Magistrates’ Court Judge Pranab Kumar granted the remands this afternoon after the investigation officer inspector Shahjalal Alam of Mirpur police station sought seven-day remands for each of the suspects.
Earlier on Tuesday Rapid Action Battalion men detained the four suspected female JMB activists from different places of the city.
Three of the detainees — Aklima, Mou and Meghla — were the students of pharmacy department in Manarat International University, and another detainee Oishee passed MBBS from Dhaka Medical College, said Mufti Mahmud Khan, said Mufti Mahmud Khan, the battalion’s legal and media wing director.
Aklima was detained at Signboard in Gazipur early Monday while Oishee at Moghbazar in Dhaka on Monday morning, the battalion sources said.
Mou and Meghla were detained at Mirpur-1.
All of them were detained along with jihadi books, compact disks that contained jihadi speeches and leaflets, they said.
