Writ filed seeking cancellation of medical admission test

A writ petition was filed with the High Court on Sunday seeking its directive on the government to cancel the admission test of MBBS and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) 2015-16 claming that the question papers were leaked, reports UNB.Eunus Ali Akond, a Supreme Court lawyer, filed the writ petition.“The writ petition will be placed before an HC bench comprising Justice Najma Haider and Justice J M Dev Chowdhury on Monday next”, said the petitioner.The petitioner also sought issuance of a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain why not the medical admission test will be cancelled. He also sought suspension of the admission procedure until settlement of the writ.He also prayed to the court to ask the government for formation of a judicial inquiry committee to conduct an investigation into the allegation of question paper leakage.“I have noticed the news on question paper leak in media and I have discussed with the students who appeared in the admission test. I have also collected the copy of a leaked question paper,” said the petitioner.Earlier, the combined admission tests for the country’s medical and dental colleges for the 2015-16 academic session was held across the country on September 18.The results of MBBS and BDS admission test have been published on Sunday.
