Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Chowdhury on Thursday said the investigation committee formed over the fire incident at the Secretariat will submit its primary report by Sunday, December 29.
She shared this information in a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Thursday evening, December 26.
“Today a high-level committee was formed in a meeting presided over by the Chief Adviser. The committee will submit its primary probe report within three days,” she said.
Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, and Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam were present at the briefing.
The senior secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the head of the Fire Service and Civil Defence have been made the committee’s president and member secretary respectively.
Besides, it includes the secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, an explosives specialist from the Armed Forces Division, the Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Textiles’ (BUET) Dr Kadri Mansur and chemical engineer Dr Yasir Arafat.
