The price of gold in the local market has been reduced slightly. The price of a 22-carat bhori (11.664 grams) of the highest-quality gold has been reduced by Tk 1,248 to Tk 1,39,338.
The adjustment follows a drop in the price of tejabi gold (pure gold) in the domestic market.
The Bangladesh Jewelers' Association (BAJUS) announced that the new prices will take effect from Tuesday (December 24).
This price reduction comes five days after an increase in gold prices on December 19. The decision to lower prices was made on Monday (December 23) at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring. The updated pricing details were shared in a notification signed by committee chairman Masudur Rahman.
