A massive fire broke out at a button-manufacturing factory in Sripur, Gazipur, prompting seven fire service units to respond in an effort to contain the blaze.
The incident occurred at M&U Trims factory in Bhangnahati village, Ward 4 of Sripur Municipality, around 1:30 pm on Sunday (December 22).
According to factory authorities, the fire originated in the chemical warehouse, causing multiple explosions that sent workers fleeing in panic.
Gazipur Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Mohammad Al Mamun stated that three units from Joydevpur, two from Rajendrapur Modern Fire Service, and two from Sripur Fire Service are engaged in extinguishing the fire.
“No casualties have been reported so far,” he said, adding that efforts to bring the fire under control are ongoing.
