First draft of martyrs, injured in July uprising published

The Special Cell on Mass Uprising has released the initial draft list of martyrs and injured individuals from the July-August student uprising.

The list includes the names of 858 martyrs and 11,551 injured, marking the first significant step toward documenting the events of that tumultuous period.

A press release, signed by Khandaker Zahirul Islam, the team leader and additional secretary of the Special Cell, confirmed the publication on Saturday. The draft is available for public viewing on the Special Cell’s official website: https://musc.portal.gov.bd.

Public feedback invited

The draft lists will remain open for public scrutiny until December 23, providing an opportunity for families, heirs, and representatives of the martyrs and injured to review, verify, and suggest corrections or additions.

The notification emphasized the collaborative efforts of the Health Services Division, the Directorate General of Health Services, and district committees across all 64 districts to ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the list.
