The interim government will announce the formation Education Reform Commission in a few days, said prof Dr Md Aminul Islam, special assistant to the education adviser.
The commission will be formed consisting of unique, talent and skilled individuals who are renowned at home and abroad, he said.
The special assistant shared this information while speaking as chief guest at the Dean's Award giving ceremony at the Daffodil International University in Savar on the outskirts of Dhaka on Wednesday, December 18.
Mentioning that the current government is laying special importance on the development of education sector, and trying to bring changes to the sector by boosting various supports, including increasing budget allocation.
On Tuesday, Bangla Academy Director General Professor Mohammad Azam emphasised the immediate need for an Education Reform Commission to address the country's educational challenges.
“Our government has formed various commissions, yet there is little focus on educational reform research. The first step for state reform must begin with education,” he said.
