The Fire Service and Civil Defense successfully brought the fire in Karail's Bau Bazar slum under control within an hour. Seven units of the Fire Service worked to contain the blaze.

The fire, which broke out suddenly around 4:15 pm on Wednesday (December 18), was brought under control by 5:12 pm, according to Fire Service Control Room Duty Officer Rakibul Islam.

Initially, five units were dispatched upon receiving the news, but traffic congestion delayed their arrival. The first unit reached the site at 4:39 pm and immediately began firefighting efforts. Two additional units later joined to assist.

Although the fire has been contained, extinguishing efforts are ongoing. The Fire Service has yet to assess the extent of the damage but confirmed there were no reports of casualties.
