The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has asked banks to provide account details of deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister Sheikh Rehana.
In a letter, the anti-money laundering agency has also sought details of the accounts linked to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust.
The letter stated that Hasina serves as the chairperson of the trust, while Sheikh Rehana was one of its trustees.
Banks have been instructed to submit all the relevant information, including transaction records, account opening forms and other related information within five working days, the BFIU letter noted.
