Primary and Mass Education Adviser Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder on Sunday announced that 93 per cent teachers will be recruited in the government primary schools based on their merit.
Along with, there will be no ward quota in the recruitment process, he said.
The adviser came up with the information while speaking as chief guest at a view-exchange with different level officials of Khulna division at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office in Khulna on Sunday.
He said, “We are laying emphasis on pre-service training in recruiting teachers aiming to improve the primary education. Now raising the budget for primary education to improve it is the demand of time.”
Currently, most of the teachers are recruited in the government primary schools in various quotas.
