Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah, leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, narrowly escaped an accident when a car in their convoy was involved in a road crash on their way back from Lohagara upazila to Chattogram.
The incident took place in the Hazipara area of Chunati union under Lohagara upazila of the district on Wednesday night, reports BSS.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Lohagara police station Md Alim confirmed the incident, saying Hasnat and Sarjis were not in the car and they are safe.
He said a Cox's Bazar-bound truck struck a car in their convoy. “Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The front portion of their vehicle was damaged in the incident," he added.
Police arrested the truck driver.
They were returning from visiting the grave of Saiful Islam Alif, a lawyer who was recently killed in Chattogram.
