The government has deployed 10 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh, BGB, in Dhaka and Chattogram to maintain the law and order.
Four platoons were deployed in Dhaka's Shahbagh, Matshya Bhaban and Hotel Intercontinental areas, while six platoons in Chattogram metropolitan area to avert any untoward incidents.
The BGB has confirmed the deployments in two separate messages.
