BJP warns of border blockade if Chinmoy is not released

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal, India, has demanded the release of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, an ISKCON leader and spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sammilito Sanatan Jagaron Jote, who was arrested in Bangladesh.

The party has warned that if he is not released, protests will be held at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, and the Sanatan community will block the Bangladesh border with flags, according to the state’s opposition leader, Suvendu Adhikari.

Suvendu made the statement on Monday after attending a screening of the film Sabarmati Report with BJP lawmakers.

Expressing concern over Chinmoy’s arrest, Suvendu said, “We are deeply disturbed and concerned about this news. We demand his unconditional release.”

Suvendu also issued a warning: “If Chinmoy is not released, there will be protests at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission, and the Sanatan community will block the Bangladesh border with flags. We will not allow any services to go from West Bengal to Bangladesh.”
