The Detective Branch of the police on Monday took Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sanatan Jagaran Mancha and principal of Pundarik Dham in Chattogram, into custody at Dhaka airport.
DB Additional Police Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallick confirmed the detention, stating that Chinmoy Krishna was taken into custody around 4:30 pm on Monday (November 25) based on a complaint.
Mallick added, "He was detained following a requisition linked to a complaint and will be handed over to the relevant police station."
Mallick, however, refrained from disclosing the specific charges against Chinmoy Krishna at this stage.
Further details about the case and the nature of the complaint are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
