A Dhaka court on Monday showed five people including former ministers Amir Hossain Amu and Hasanul Haque Inu arrested in five fresh cases lodged over casualties during the July-August student-led mass uprising.
The three other accused are former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former director general (DG) of the National Telecommunications Monitoring Centre (NTMC) Major General (sacked) Ziaul Ahsan and former secretary Jahangir Alam, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman passed the order as the police produced the five before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in the five cases filed with the four different police stations.
Of the five, Mamun and Inu were shown arrested in the Amir Hossain murder case filed with the Uttara West Police Station. Amu, Jahangir and Ziaul were shown arrested in Ramij Uddin Rup murder case filed with the Tejgaon Police Station, Inu were shown arrested with Md Al Shahriar Hossain murder case filed with the Mohammadpur Police Station and Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun were shown arrested in Mizanur Rahman murder case and Azad Hossain murder attempt case lodged with Mirpur Model Police Station.
