Police have arrested a Juba League activist in Satkhira who indiscriminately opened fire on students and people during the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement in Chattogram.
On information, the law enforcers arrested Touhidul Islam alias Hori Touhid alias Farid, 32, in Kamal Nagar area under Sadar police station on Friday afternoon, said Quazi Md Tareque Aziz, additional deputy commissioner (public relations) of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police, CMP.
He is accused in 12 cases, including five murder cases, filed with the Chandgaon police station in Chattogram, he added.
In primary interrogation, the Juba League man admitted that he fired 28 rounds of bullets on students and people on August 4, a day before the fall of the Awami League-led government, the police official also said.
