Popular Islamic preacher Abdul Hai Muhammad Saifullah and his family were injured when a truck crashed into their microbus on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Tangail on Saturday night. The family was returning home after attending a religious gathering (waz mahfil).
Saifullah sustained injuries to his chest, right eye, and back as the microbus was severely damaged in the collision, caused by the truck striking it from behind. He received initial treatment in Tangail before being transported to Dhaka for better medical care.
In a Facebook post published at 7:02 am on Sunday, it was stated:
"Our beloved preacher and renowned khateeb, Abdul Hai Muhammad Saifullah, along with his family, was involved in a severe road accident last night while returning from a religious gathering.
The incident occurred on the Tangail Jamuna Bridge Expressway when a truck struck their vehicle from behind, leaving it crushed from both the front and back. Abdul Hai Muhammad Saifullah sustained injuries to his chest, eyes, and back.
By the grace of Allah, he has regained consciousness. After receiving initial treatment in Tangail, he was swiftly transported to Dhaka for further care. Arrangements are being made for advanced treatment of his eye injuries.
By the grace of Allah, he is now out of danger but has been advised complete rest. Various unverified reports have been circulating, causing concern among many. We kindly request everyone not to spread speculative or unconfirmed information.

Saifullah is currently the Khateeb of Masjidul Jumu’ah Complex in Pallabi and serves as the Religious Director at EBS, a private telecom service provider.
He earned both Honours and Master’s degrees in the Department of Al-Hadith at Kushtia Islamic University, graduating as the Faculty First and receiving a gold medal from the university. Saifullah also completed an MPhil at the same institution and is currently pursuing a PhD.
