Amjad Khan Chowdhury Nursing College honored students who achieved a GPA-5 in this year’s Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examination with a special reception.
The programme took place on Saturday at the college campus in Chandpur, Natore. Over a hundred students from Natore district registered to attend the event.
Uzma Chowdhury, Chairman of the nursing college and Director (Corporate Finance) at PRAN-RFL Group, presided over the programme. Dr. Mohammad Muktadeer Arefin, Civil Surgeon of Natore, and Rehena Khatun, Principal of the college, were also present, according to a press release.
PRAN-RFL Group established a 50-bed hospital in 2016 to enhance healthcare services in the Rajshahi and Natore regions. Building on this initiative, the group launched Amjad Khan Chowdhury Nursing College near the hospital.
In her address, Uzma Chowdhury encouraged the students, saying, “You are here as our guests; don’t let your journey end here. It is essential to uphold your accomplishments. One day you will be enlightened people.”
She emphasized, “Nursing is a very noble profession across the globe and it has huge demand in the country. Our goal is that the students will gain knowledge from the nursing college and disseminate it both nationally and internationally. We have implemented various initiatives to ensure that students can enhance their skills by accessing all necessary facilities. Additionally, we have established hospitals in several locations, including Natore, Narsingdi, and Habiganj, where graduates can find employment opportunities following their studies. We are confident that the persistent dedication of the students, combined with the college's diverse initiatives, will ultimately set a remarkable standard in the healthcare sector.”
Amjad Khan Chowdhury Nursing College boasts experienced faculty with master’s and PhD degrees, hands-on learning opportunities in its own modern hospital, state-of-the-art labs, a spacious campus, and affordable residential facilities. These resources aim to develop skilled human resources in the nursing field.
The college offers three academic programs: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery, and Diploma in Midwifery. All programs follow the syllabus prescribed by the Bangladesh Nursing Council, and the college operates under Rajshahi Medical University.
