Actor Rubel injured in road accident

Popular movie actor Masum Parvez Rubel was injured in a road accident in Madaripur on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred in the Tantibari area on the Dhaka-Barishal highway. According to local journalists, Rubel’s microbus was severely damaged in the crash.

Sources said Rubel and his associates were traveling from Dhaka to Amtali in Patuakhali district to inaugurate a club. Near the Tantibari area in Madaripur, a passenger bus from Barishal collided with their microbus, causing it to lose control and crash into a roadside tree.

Rubel and two of his associates were injured in the accident. While Rubel sustained minor injuries, one of his associates and the driver were critically injured. The injured have been identified as Rubel's trainer, Mohammad Kabir, and the driver, Omar Faruq.

Rubel is currently serving as the vice-president of the Bangladesh Film Artists' Association. His career in the Bengali film industry began with the film Laraku, directed by Shahidul Islam Khokon in 1986. Over the years, he has appeared in more than 200 films, with notable works including Mayer Jonno Juddho, Bichchu Bahini, Utthan Poton, Bajromusti, and Vondo.
