3 killed in gunfights in 3 districts

Three people were killed in separate gunfights with law enforcers in Dhaka, Khulna and Jhenaidah districts on Friday.

In Dhaka, an allegedly drug dealer was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Kodomtali area in city on early morning of Friday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known yet.

According to a mobile SMS to journalists sent by the elite force, the gunfight took place in front of WASA building at Kodomtali around 4am on Friday.

Rab also recovered one foreign-made pistol, one round of bullets, 510 pieces of yaba tablets and 24 ample pethidine from the spot.

In Khulna, an allegedly ringleader of a pirate gang was killed in a gunfight with police at Koira upazila of the district on Friday early morning.

The deceased was identified as Anarul Islam, 45, leader of Anarul Bahini.

In Jhenaidah, a suspected robber was killed in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Folshi area of the district.

The deceased is Shahidul Islam Poca, 43.

According to a SMS sent by RAB, the ‘gunfight’ took place around 1:40am on Friday.

In the SMS RAB said Shahidul was an accused in 11 cases including murder and robbery.
