The Textile Today Innovation Hub launched Textile Talent Hunt Season 9 on November 9.
Presented by Centro Tex Ltd. and powered by EURODYE-ctc, Textile Talent Hunt aims to inspire innovation within Bangladesh’s textile sector by engaging both industry and academia.
The launch event, chaired by BUTEX Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Zulhash Uddin, also featured notable industry leaders, including BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem, who emphasized the need for innovative leaders to reduce reliance on expatriates, said a press release.
Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of BIDA and BEZA, highlighted Bangladesh’s advantages for investment and called for stronger collaboration in textile R&D.
Textile Talent Hunt Season 9 will involve over 3,000 participants from universities nationwide, with 100 students selected as "Innovation Masterminds" through a rigorous training program involving industry projects, supervised research, and practical problem-solving initiatives.
Over 30 partner factories will host innovation projects addressing critical industry challenges, with outcomes showcased at the Textile Today Innovation Hub Innovation Conference.
Top performers will receive prizes totaling Tk 6,50,000, alongside scholarships and training opportunities valued at Tk 42 lakh.
Industry sponsors include Dysin Group, CHT, Apna Organics, Coats, Sameet Dye Chem, and Denim Solution, with Transfar Chemicals as the research partner and TexMeta as the network partner.
