Former Awami League lawmaker from Jhenaidah-2 constituency Tahjib Alam Siddique has been arrested in Savar on the outskirts of capital Dhaka on Thursday night.
Lt Col Munim Ferdous, director of Rapid Action Battalion’s legal and media wing, confirmed his arrest to Jago News.
He said the former lawmaker was apprehended in connection with separate cases of murder, vandalism and arson filed with the Sadar police station, Jhenaidah.
Tahjib Siddique is an accused in a case filed on August 27 over the murder of Abdus Salam, an activist of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, in Jhenaidah around 11 years ago.
