The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 1,326 Indian and Myanmar nationals along the country's borders during the month of October.
Legal action was taken against 28 Indian nationals, while 1,298 Myanmar citizens were returned to their country.
During this period, the BGB seized smuggled goods worth Tk 225.88 crore in multiple raids across border areas and other regions.
The operation led to the arrest of 243 smugglers and the detention of 345 Bangladeshi citizens involved in illegal border crossings and smuggling activities, including drug trafficking.
Items recovered included 986 grams of gold, over 14,000 sarees, 27,652 metres of cloth, 250,722 cosmetics, and large quantities of commodities like tea leaves, sugar, coal, and garlic. Additionally, the BGB confiscated 21 trucks, 24 pickups, 9 trolleys, 53 CNG/easy bikes, and 81 motorcycles.
Weapons recovered in the raids included pistols, guns, a rifle, grenades, and ammunition.
Among the narcotics seized were 590,977 Yaba tablets and over 3 kg of crystal meth.
