5 more arrested for setting fire to army, police vehicles

Five more individuals have been arrested in connection with the vandalism and arson attacks on army and police vehicles in Dhaka's Kachukhet and Mirpur-14 areas.

The arrested individuals are Alamgir, Reshma Khatun, Mahfuz Mia, Aminul Islam, and Kazi Rasel.

The arrests were made during an operation by army personnel in the Bhashantek and Kafrul areas of the capital, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday night.

Following their arrest, the individuals were handed over to Bhashantek and Kafrul police stations for questioning and further legal procedures. 

The ISPR also stated that the army’s operation against those involved in deliberate arson on military vehicles, spreading panic, and damaging government property will continue.

Earlier, on November 1, the army conducted a raid in Bhashantek, arresting three individuals identified as Rifat, Hridoy, and Yasin. This brings the total number of arrests by the army to eight.
