Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus hosted a reception for the Bangladesh national women's football team in recognition of their victory in the SAFF Championship in Nepal.
The event took place at State Guest House ‘Jamuna’ around 11:00 am on Saturday, with the football team arriving by bus at 10:30 am.
Earlier on Thursday, the SAFF-winning women footballers landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 2:15 pm. They arrived at the BFF building in an open-top bus, where Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan welcomed them with a bouquet of flowers. The Sports Adviser later presented a cheque of Tk 1 crore to the women's football team for winning the SAFF Women's Championship.
Notably, the Bangladesh women’s football team has once again made the nation proud by rewriting history, winning back-to-back SAFF Women’s Championship titles by defeating Nepal 2-1 in the final match held at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal, on October 30.
