4 ministers among 8 remanded

A total of eight individuals, including four former ministers from the Awami League-led government, have been remanded in separate cases.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Md Sharifur Rahman and Md Imran Ahmmed granted the remand orders for them on Wednesday.

Former Law Minister Anisul Huq has been placed on a five-day remand in a case filed with Shahbagh Police Station regarding fake voting in the High Court, as well as a three-day remand in a murder case lodged with Badda Police Station.

Former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun was remanded for three days in a case filed with Dhanmondi Police Station and four days in a case lodged with Bongshal Police Station.

Former Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder was placed on a three-day remand in a case filed with Mohammadpur Police Station, while former Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan was also given a three-day remand in a case filed with Jatrabari Police Station.

Former army officer Ziaul Ahsan, former Member of Parliament Haji Selim, former minister Hasanul Haque Inu, and the recently banned Chhatra League's Dhaka University General Secretary Tanvir Hasan Saikat were remanded for five days in separate cases filed with New Market and Chwakbazar Police Stations.

Notably, all eight individuals, including the four ministers, were arrested at different times following the collapse of the Awami League government.
