3 lynched on suspicion of cattle theft in Narail

Three individuals have been allegedly beaten to death on suspicion of cattle theft in Narail's Sadar Upazila. The incident occurred in the Tularampur area of the upazila on Tuesday night (October 29).

Md Sazedul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident on Wednesday morning (October 30).

Among the deceased, two individuals have been identified as Nur Nabi and Dulal, both from the Shibganj area of Bogura district. The identity of the third individual has yet to be confirmed.

According to police and local sources, four thieves broke into the house of Hannan Molla in Tularampur village on Tuesday night. When the house dog barked, Hannan Molla became aware of the intrusion. Hearing his shouts for help, nearby residents rushed to the scene. As the suspects attempted to flee, they were chased and brutally beaten by the locals, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, while one managed to escape.

Local residents have complained about multiple incidents of cattle theft in the Tularampur area over the past few months.

Regarding the incident, OC Sazedul Islam stated that the police have visited the scene and that legal action is underway.
