Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah and commissioners Asia Khatun and Zahurul Haque have resigned, according to a senior ACC official.
The resignations come in the wake of the interim government’s formation of the ACC Reform Commission on October 3.
The commission, tasked with reviewing the ACC's structure and procedures, is expected to submit its report to the Chief Adviser within 90 days, incorporating input from various stakeholders.
Chairman Moinuddin Abdullah and the two commissioners cited personal reasons for their resignations. Asked about the move, Moinuddin stated, “I submitted my resignation some time ago,” and declined to elaborate further before hanging up.
At 2:10pm on Tuesday, Moinuddin, along with the two commissioners, departed from the ACC head office.
The ACC Reform Commission had been scheduled to meet with ACC officials later that afternoon at 3:30pm for a discussion.
