The Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Rajshahi, has issued show-cause notices to 59 more trainee sub-inspectors (SIs) from the 40th cadet batch over indiscipline during training classes.
The notices, signed by Superintendent of Police (Admin & Logistics) Tariq Bin Rashid on behalf of the principal of the Police Academy, were served on Monday (21 October) and Thursday (24 October) for creating chaos by sitting disorderly during training classes.
Among them, 10 SIs were served notices on Monday, and another 49 on Thursday. They were asked to respond within three days of receiving the show-cause notices.
This development follows the recent discharge of 252 cadet sub-inspectors who had received final recommendations for appointment but were dismissed on charges of creating chaos over breakfast at the training ground.
In this connection, the principal of the Police Academy and Additional IGP of Police, Md Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan, stated that he would not comment on the matter. He advised contacting the public relations branch of the police headquarters for more information.
Assistant Inspector General of Police (Media and Public Relations) at the police headquarters, Enamul Haque Sagar, said, "I do not have any information about this matter yet. If I find out, I will inform you later."
