HSC results: Police charge baton on protesters, detain 50

The army and police charged baton at the students who entered the Secretariat to disperse them on Wednesday afternoon.

Later, they detained more than 50 students from the spot.

Earlier around 3:00pm, a group of students entered the Secretariat demanding the government publish again the Higher Secondary Certificate, HSC, and its equivalent examinations results through mapping all subjects.

On October 20, six students were injured in an attack allegedly by some staff of Dhaka Education Board when they were staging demonstration there with the same demand.

Amid their movement, Dhaka Education Board Chairman Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar stepped down from his post.

On October 15, the results of HSC and its equivalent examinations were published.

Terming the results as discriminatory, the students demanded the government to publish the results again through mapping of all subjects.
