Police have arrested former Member of Parliament for the Habiganj-4 constituency, Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman, in cases filed over the killing of students during the anti-discrimination student movement.
Md Nazrul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Pallabi Police Station, confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
He said that Barrister Suman was arrested by Mirpur Model Police Station in the early hours of Tuesday in cases related to the killing of students during the anti-discrimination student movement. However, due to vandalism and arson at Mirpur Model Police Station during the movement, there is currently no space to hold detainees there. Therefore, he has been kept at Pallabi Police Station.
However, at around 1:15 am, Barrister Suman wrote in a Facebook post, 'I am going with the police. See you in court. Please pray for me, everyone.'
