Royal Enfield launches four models in Bangladesh

The long-awaited 350cc Royal Enfield motorcycles are now available for purchase in Dhaka, marking a major moment for motorbike enthusiasts.

The models, including the Bullet, Meteor, Hunter, and Classic, come in 12 different colors and were officially unveiled at Royal Enfield’s flagship store in Tejgaon, Dhaka.

Initially, one or two models will be available in three to five colours.

Royal Enfield's distributor, Ifad Group, has set up a production unit in Chauddagram, Cumilla, where the motorcycles are assembled. The motorcycles are expected to offer an average mileage of 36-38 km/l.

Official prices of the much-sought-for range between Tk 3.4 lakh and Tk 4.35 lakh.

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is priced at Tk 3.40 lakh, the price of Classic 350 is Tk 4.5 lakh, the price of Bullet 350 is Tk 4.10 lakh, and Meteor 350 is priced at Tk 4.35 lakh. The bikes can be pre-booked from Tuesday at Tk 25,000.

Previously, Bangladesh had restrictions on motorcycles with engines over 165cc, but the government raised the limit to 375cc in September last year, making way for Royal Enfield's entry into the market.

Royal Enfield’s history dates back to 1901 when Frenchman Jules Gobiet collaborated with Royal Enfield’s co-founder Bob Walker Smith to create the first prototype motor-bicycle. In 1955, the British company partnered with India’s Madras Motors, leading to the formation of Enfield India. The company was later acquired by the Eicher Group in 1994, and rebranded as Royal Enfield Motors Limited.
