Police arrested former state minister for Industries and ruling Awami League lawmaker for the Dhaka-15 constituency, Kamal Ahmed Mojumder, in the Gulshan area of the capital on Friday night.
Confirming the matter, Kazi Golam Mostofa, Officer-in-Charge of Kafrul Police Station, said Kamal Ahmed was arrested in Gulshan. He is accused in a case related to the anti-discrimination student movement and will be produced in court on Saturday.
Kamal Ahmed, Chairman of private television channel Mohona TV, has been elected as a Member of Parliament four times.
