The government will certainly take all necessary steps to bring back the fugitive former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as per the court's order, said Foreign Affairs Advisor Md Touhid Hossain.
He made this statement during a view exchange meeting with journalists regarding recent diplomatic issues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 4:30 pm on Thursday.
An arrest warrant has been issued by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) against Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, and 44 others on charges of genocide.
In response to a question regarding the steps to bring back Sheikh Hasina, he said, "I learnt about this news just before entering here. We will certainly take the necessary actions. The court has given a month’s time, and within that period, we will do everything required to bring her back."
When asked about Sheikh Hasina's current status, he responded, "The news has just arrived, and we might get an update soon. Once we have more details, we can provide further information."
In response to a question about the process of bringing back Sheikh Hasina, he said, "How we bring her back is not important. What’s important is that the court has ordered their arrest. The warrant was not issued to me; it was issued to the police. But the police cannot act on it because she is not in the country. The matter will then come to us, and we will act accordingly. That’s all I can say for today."
