The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced its 15-man squad for the first Test against South Africa, set to be played at home.
The squad, revealed on Wednesday afternoon, includes no new additions, with pacer Khaled Ahmed being the only exclusion from the recent tour of India.
As expected, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, a figure of much curiosity and interest, has been named in the squad. The team leans towards spin, with only three pacers—Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, and Nahid Rana—included.
In contrast, the spin department is strong, featuring Shakib alongside Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, and off-spinner Nayeem Hasan.
