No cases to be filed against mass uprising participants: Ministry

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a directive stating that no cases or complaints of harassment should be filed against students and the public who participated in the mass uprising in July and August.

This information was announced in a notice sent by the ministry on Monday.

The notice states that the mass uprising by students and the public on August 5 marked a new beginning toward building a discrimination-free Bangladesh through the fall of the authoritarian fascist government. To ensure the success of this uprising, it has been decided that there will be no cases, arrests, or harassment against those students and the public who actively supported the movement from July 15 to August 8 in relation to the events of the July uprising.

Relevant parties have been instructed to remain vigilant regarding this matter. They have also been warned against providing false information to gain any advantages.
