The government has appointed Dr Sheikh Abdur Rashid as the new cabinet secretary.
He was appointed to the post for two years on a contractual basis, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday (October 8).
He replaces incumbent cabinet secretary Md Mahbub Hossain.
Earlier on August 17, the government appointed Abdur Rashid, a retired officer, as the senior secretary of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education for two years on a contractual basis.
