Lalmonirhat executive magistrate Tapashee suspended

Tapashee Tabassum Urmi, an assistant commissioner (executive magistrate) at Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner's Office, has been suspended following her controversial remark about the chief adviser of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, on Facebook.

Confirming the matter, Public Administration Ministry’s public relations officer, Mansur Hossain, said a process is underway to take departmental action against her.

Earlier on Sunday (October 6), she was made an Officer on Special Duty, OSD, for the comment.

Tapasheee wrote on Facebook, “The chief adviser (Prof Yunus) of the interim government, which has no constitutional basis, said reset button has been pushed and pasts have been removed. He (Yunus) erased all the pasts and histories of the country clicking the reset button. Is it so easy! Your (Yunus) countdown has started.”

The assistant commissioner also gave several other posts taking stance in favour of the Awami League-led government ousted by the student-people mass uprising.
