Yunus among world's top 50 influential Muslims

Nobel laureate and interim government Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, has been named one of the top 50 figures in the list of the 500 most influential Muslims globally.

The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre (RISSC), based in Amman, Jordan, published its 16th annual list, "The Muslim 500: The World's Most Influential Muslims."

Since 2009, the RISSC has recognised individuals who have made significant contributions across various fields, including religious thought, political leadership, art, and culture, and who have profoundly impacted Muslim communities worldwide.

This year's list was created in collaboration with the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University in the United States.

Yunus’ inclusion comes after his prominent role following the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government during the student-led uprising, further elevating his status as a global Muslim leader.
