Mahmudur wants banning BCL in a week

Mahmudur Rahman, acting editor of Amar Desh, has demanded that the interim government ban the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) as a terrorist organisation within the next seven days.

He outlined this demand and six others while exchanging views with journalists at the National Press Club on Sunday (October 6).

“Bangladesh Chhatra League should be declared an illegal organisation without delay,” said Mahmudur, claiming that the BCL has been responsible for all terrorist activities in the country over the past 16 years.

He alleged that all students killed in recent movements were victims of police and BCL forces.

In addition to banning the BCL, Mahmudur’s demands included:

Establishing a committee led by the Health Adviser, Finance Adviser, Industries and Public Works Adviser, and the Chief Adviser’s Political Secretary to oversee the treatment and rehabilitation of those injured during the student movement.

Naming Jamuna Bridge after Shaheed Abu Sayeed to honour his legacy.

Publicly disclosing all agreements signed with India since 2009, along with a committee to review these agreements.

Renaming Bangabandhu Avenue in memory of Shaheed Abrar, whom he called the first martyr of the current fascist movement.

Canceling Saima Wazed Putul’s nomination from the World Health Organization, which he alleged was secured through fraudulent means.

Initiating a judicial inquiry headed by an Appellate Division judge into the murders of Brigadier General (retd) Abdur Rahim and BNP leader Nasir Uddin Pintu.

Mahmudur Rahman emphasised the need for accountability and transparency in addressing these issues.
