The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, DMP, arrested former Public Security Division secretary Md Jahangir Alam in the capital’s Gulshan area on Tuesday (October 1).
Muhammad Talubur Rahman, deputy commissioner of DMP’s media and public relations wing, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
It is, however, not clear in which case he was arrested.
Jahangir was the secretary of the Election Commission during the last general election. There are allegations that he was one of the architects of the “dummy” election.
