The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association, BAJUS, has reduced the price of 22 carat gold by Tk 1,259 to Tk 1,37,449 per bhori.
Besides, 21-carat gold was cut by Tk 1,201 to 1,31,197 a bhori (11.664 grams), 18-carat by Tk 1,038 to Tk 1,12,453, and gold of traditional method by Tk 874 to Tk 92,286 respectively, BAJUS said in a statement on Saturday (September 28).
The association said it lowered the price following a decrease in the price of pure gold in the local market.
The new prices will come into effect from Sunday (September 29).
Earlier on September 26, BAJUS raised the price of gold to a record of high of Tk 1,38,708 per bhori in the country's history.
