Internet users across the country may experience low speed or disruption for four hours on Sunday due to the maintenance works on the submarine cable system and bandwidth services at Patuakhali’s Kuakata station.
Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC, BSCPLC, issued a notice on Friday, regretting for the temporary trouble.
According to the notice signed by its managing director (operation and maintenance) Saidur Rahman, the SEA-ME-WE 5 consortium planned to place lighting filter on the submarine cable system from 2:00am to 6:00am on Sunday.
At the time, bandwidth services of all circuits linked to Kuakata landing station via SEA-ME-WE submarine cables will remain closed. As a result, internet users may face slow speed or disruption, the notice said.
However, the circuits connected to Cox’s Bazar landing station via SEA-ME-WE 4 submarine cables will stay in operation, according to the notice.
