Tigresses head for UAE to play T20 World Cup

The Bangladesh women's cricket team departed Dhaka at 10:00am Thursday, to compete in the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

Led by Nigar Sultana Jyoti, the team is aiming to make a mark in the tournament, which begins on October 3rd.

Bangladesh was originally slated to host the event, but due to political instability following the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government, the ICC relocated the tournament to the UAE.

Despite the change in venue, Bangladesh will still serve as the host nation. The World Cup will kick off with a match between Bangladesh and Scotland on October 3rd at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The Bangladesh team is grouped with England, South Africa, and the West Indies.

The team is eager to improve upon their previous performances in the T20 World Cup, having failed to win a match in the last four editions. Captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti expressed her determination to lead the team to success in a press conference held earlier this week.
