Three ready-made garments workers were killed and at least 30 others injured as a minibus and a truck collided in Manikganj’s Shibalaya on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Bithi Aktar, 28, wife of Iqbal Hossain, Fuli Begum, 30, wife of Abdul Baten, and Sabina Aktar, 25, wife of Sabbir, all residents of Samejghar village under Teota union in Shibalaya.
Police and locals said a minibus carrying the workers of Tarasima Apparels Limited collided head-on with a stone-laden truck in Bara boali area on the Dhaka-Aricha highway around 7:00am, leaving one dead on the spot and many others injured.
Among the injured, two died in hospital.
BArangail highway police station’s sergeant Anwar Hossain the bodies were kept at the police station and Shibalaya upazila health complex.
