Two people were stabbed to death by miscreants in the capital’s Mohammadpur on Friday evening.
The incident took place around 7:00 pm.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Nasir, 30, and Munna, 22.
Confirming the matter, Ali Iftekhar Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, stated that Munna's body was sent to the morgue at Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, while Nasir's body was sent to the morgue at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Nasir’s brother Islam said his brother was construction worker and a member of Awami League’s ward no 34. He was passing by the Martyred Intellectuals’ Graveyard at Rayerbazar in Mohammadpur in the evening when he got caught in a clash between two groups over toll collection. There, some unknown individuals stabbed him, causing serious injuries. He was initially taken to a local hospital, but as his condition worsened, he was transferred to DMCH, where he died around 10:00 pm while undergoing treatment.
Islam also mentioned that their house is in the Rayer Bazar Intellectual Graveyard area and that their father's name is Md. Shah Alam Biswas.
Md Faruk Nasir, Inspector and In-Charge of the DMCH police camp, stated that Nasir’s body has been kept at the hospital.
